May Ride Re-Cap – "Show-n-Shine"

This month was our ELEVENTH ANNUAL SHOW and SHINE sponsored by YAMAHA of CUCAMONGA. Whenever we put one of these events together, we always wonder what and who will show up. This year we had some very nice surprises.

We started the day with a quick parking lot meeting to go over some of the usual, chapter announcements, Star announcement, up coming rides and most of all we started to get things lined up for our up coming Debi’s Ride. But lets get back to the Show and Shine.

Our supporting shop YAMAHA of CUCAMONGA, Jay and Scott really came to the plate and offered up some cool stuff for the raffle prizes. We had some bike parts, plenty of Yamaha Caps and T-Shirts and some rather large gift certificates, two $50.00 and one $150.00. Montclair Café donated a dinner for two; we also gave away free go-cart passes, and much more, too much to mention. I think almost everyone walked away with something.

For lunch we had Vince’s Spaghetti, meet sauce and garlic bread, with a cool salad, water and soda, I think everyone had more than one plate.

Now to the winners:
  Best Paint: LouAnn Lopez
  Best Bagger: Vince Greva
  Best Stock: Jordan Chambers
  Best Modified: Tony Barbano
Best 1300 and Under: Shannon Brock
  Best Non Metric: Danny Diaz
  Best Open: Mike Cosner
  Best of Show: Mike Cosner

Best Paint, LouAnn’s bike was painted by Twisted Image, it’s pink with ghost hearts that come out when the sun shines on it a certain way, really cool.

Best Bagger, Vince’s bike is an old classic that looks brand new, I think he spend more time cleaning his bike then his wife Kat would like, nice job Vince.

Best Stock, Jordan Chambers showed up with a nice stocker that had just a little something done. Each pipe has an extra exhaust tip welded on that made it look like two, two into one’s. Still stock, but with just a little twist.

Best Modified, Every time I see Tony’s Raider something is different. He must have a new part on his bike every week. Keep it up Tony it looks awesome.

Best 1300 and Under, I saw this Shannon’s back in 2008 at Debi’s Ride, I noticed the paint back then. I must say it stands out and makes you take notice and it’s a well deserved win.

Best Non Metric, Danny Diaz gave us a treat for the eyes with his custom stretch chopper. All the chrome you would want and a cool custom paint job. Almost every part on that machine was custom made, awesome!!

Best Open and Best of Show, when Mike pulled up on his Roadliner the first thing we noticed was the rims done in black chrome. Then we started to look a little closer and saw more cool stuff, like the spike bolts used, not to many but just enough, the chrome fender stays, the bomber kit in black, the chrome side panels, the chrome floor boards and belt sprocket, the more we looked the more we found. When Mike won Best Open, he was surprised but when he also won Best of Show, his jaw fell to the ground. It was a great day for Mike and his family and we are glad you came.
