Ride Recap: January 21ST 2012 (Rainout)
Unfortunately, the weather kept us from riding
but it was nice to see almost 25 people show up for the reading of The
Charter and the Signing of the Ride Waivers. Gary started the meeting by
introducing new Sargent at Arms Ruben. Ruben then performed his first
official duty. He introduced 2012 board members.
Gary
then proceeded to introduce dignitaries that came to our meeting Vinnie
Greva: STAR International Public Relations, Founder and board member of ISC.
Bob Barbano: Western Regional Director. Ron and Lou Ann Lopez: Southern
California State Ambassadors (Southern Region). Gary thank them for coming
and thanked hem ahead of time for any help they may give us in the future.
Gary encouraged members to go to tucsonstarriders.org the link that will
give information for the upcoming SW StarBQue to be held on March 30-31st.
Gary also announced that STAR DAYS on line registration will open up on
February 1st. Gary shared that both he and Jay are working on setting up
monthly or seasonal specials that Jay will run for 109ers/STAR members.
VP
Dave, shared the planned ride schedule for the next six months. He explained
that the 2012 board members encourage 109er to submit ride suggestions. Dave
also invited members who are retired or on vacation and would like to ride
during the week to please contact him because he does ride during the week
on a regular basis.
Calendars for January and February were
handed out so member had dates of not only 109 scheduled rides but ride
dates of other local chapters.
The Charter was read by Anna,
Gary, Ruben and Dave. Valerie and Lisa held a multiple winner raffle.
Winners were: LouAnn, Ron, Bob, Dan, Barry (hopefully I got then all correct
and didn’t leave anyone out-forgive me if I did). In an orderly fashion,
members lined up and signed ride waivers with Ruben, Gary and Dave making
sure everyone was current members. Job well done guys!
Before we adjourned for the day, Gary acknowledged that Carl and his wife Armine Artinian had celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary !!

So after a wonderful breakfast with friends, official STAR business completed, meeting was adjourned with everyone looking forward to next months ride. Mission San Juan Capistrano get ready because here we come!
